Chronic pain is more than just physical discomfort—it deeply affects mental well-being, social connections, and overall quality of life. Traditional pain management approaches often fail to address the full spectrum of challenges that chronic pain sufferers face.

Enter PAIND, a flexible, human-centred digital product designed to empower individuals to take control of their pain journey. Built on the principles of personalisation, psychological support, and progressive goal-setting, PAIND aims to provide more than symptom relief—it offers a pathway to long-term resilience and well-being.

The challenge

Chronic pain is more than just physical discomfort—it impacts mental health, social interactions, and overall quality of life. Traditional pain management often overlooks these broader challenges, leaving sufferers feeling unsupported.

PAIND's founder, drawing from personal experience, envisioned a holistic, human-centred digital tool that would empower individuals to proactively manage their pain.

However, several key challenges stood in the way of bringing this vision to life:

Personalisation & flexibility

Pain experiences vary widely. The solution needed to adapt to different pain durations, severity levels, and individual goals.

User engagement & motivation

Managing chronic pain can feel stagnant, discouraging progress. A system was needed to help users track small wins and stay engaged

Holistic approach

The solution needed to go beyond symptom management, integrating psychological, social, and medical support.

Investment readiness

To move forward, the concept needed validation—proving it was feasible, scalable, and impactful enough to attract funding.

The approach

A human-centred, data-driven strategy.

To bring PAIND’s vision to life, we structured a focused, eight-week proof-of-concept sprint designed to validate the idea, refine core functionalities, and ensure investor readiness.

Through deep collaboration and research, we defined five foundational elements that would shape PAIND's approach to chronic pain management:

"This phase of work was imperative for us to obtain investment in PAIND, Evident provided me with a structured process for distilling my thoughts and vision through their workshops and took my early-stage idea into a tangible product that has now entered medical trials"
